Abstract

Law 13.964/2019, or “anti-crime package”, mostly authored by the former Minister of Justice and Public Security, Sérgio Moro, brought structural changes in several areas to the Brazilian legal system. There is a special emphasis on the technological appeal in the criminal process and criminal policy brought in the referred law, as well as the inspiration in the justice systems of the United States. Therefore, in order to try to fulfill the purpose of criticizing the new institute, this article addresses questions about this normative update, especially with regard to the expansion of the genetic database, interrogation by videoconference and plea bargain
